We booked the 1 night Coastal Cruise from Vancouver to Seattle, I am a Travel Agent specializing in standard cruise lines, and was very excited for my first Princess cruise given that I sell these and other cruise lines several times a day. Unfortunately my experience wasn't so great.

I booked cabin A727 for my boyfriend and myself and A731 for my Mom and best friend. The day of departure I got an email from my Agency stating there was delays with port authority and we should arrive to the pier as early as possible between 10:30 am and 12:30pm. Since our hotel was only 3 blocks away arriving early was no problem for us. We walked into the cruise terminal at 10:30am sharp where we were so rushed by what seemed to be annoyed staff that we missed the place to drop off our bags and were stuck carrying them though the nightmare they call customs. Apparently on this day there were 3-4 other cruises embarking that day so the check in at security and customs were very backed up. We got into a large warehouse setting and waiting in the first check in line for about 50 minutes, this warehouse was hot, crowded and not well controlled. Then onto the second line, security, where it wasn't so crowded, went by in about 20 minutes. And finally, to customs, where we were hearded into a large crowded seating area with no further instructions other than, sit and wait. We honestly didn't even know what we were waiting for until we got to the counter. Very weird.

After boarding the ship we went to our cabins to finally drop off our bags and headed up to deck 15 Horizon Court for the buffet, which for the 1st 15 minutes we couldn't find any entrances to, all the signs had arrows pointing to the exits! I would normally assume I was just having a slow moment, but there were so many others wandering around looking for the entrances too! After we finally got into the buffet the line went very slowly but luckily the food tasted alright, My favorite for the fried shrimp, poached salmon and espresso desert.

Balcony

Cabin BD

Larger than other cruise lines, lots of closet space. Very comfy beds and linens. While on balcony looking downward you can easily view 2 decks worth of other passenger balconies, but you cannot see any above you, no obstruction.
