This is a review of a combined cruise and land tour of Alaska. Overall, the cruise was very nice. We chose a suite level accommodation and would recommend it highly. The suite was beautiful, large deck, nice beds, spotlessly clean, quiet and very pleasant. We enjoyed just relaxing in the suite. The "extras" at the suite level are well worth the money: private dining room for breakfast, anytime dining with daily reservation and table for two, filled minibar upon arrival, extra canapés, LAUNDRY SERVICE INCLUDED! The service by the staff on the ship was excellent. There were some negatives (large lines at times) but overall it was a very nice trip. We would have enjoyed some educational talks (not shopping recommendations) and the chef's show was great fun!

The land portion was a different story. "Cattle Drive" best describes the experience. There are hundreds of guests arriving and leaving the lodges at the same time. It is a totally chaotic experience. The buses are packed. It is GREEDY on the part of Princess Cruise Lines to pack the buses to that I spent one 3 ½ hour ride sitting next to the toilet in the back seat because I did not rush with the crowd to get on the bus. I am attaching a photo (if possible) to show my view of the ride from Denali to Fairbanks.''

PREPARE TO SPEND $100 PER DAY PER PERSON AT THE LODGES AND HOTELS. if your meals are not included. The Princess travel agent who reserved our trip did not tell me this. Many people were upset about this. Breakfast is $20 per person, lunch about $30 and dinner $50. Drinks not included.
