This was our 7th Princess Cruise and first time to Alaska. Second time on the Crown.

We flew into Vancouver the same day and had ordered the Princess transfers to the ship. This was convenient, because they take your luggage to the ship from the airport. Our flight was late and we had to wait over 1 hour for the bus to arrive to pick us up. It would have been cheaper and faster to take a taxi, but the luggage would have had to come with us. The bus was beautiful and the driver provided details of the city. It was just a long day having a layover with our first flight.

We had priority embarkation, thankfully. We were through all the lineups with in 20 minutes. There was a lot of distance between security, customs and checkin. This would have been difficult for anyone with mobility issues. There were mostly blue cards on this cruise, and non Canadian/American passengers. Those passengers had huge lineups and we heard they experienced 2.5 - 3 hours wait-times to get through the process.

Glacier Bay

Absolutely amazing. We stayed on the balcony after sunrise. No crowds to contend with. We stopped infront of the Glacier for 30 min and then they turned the ship around for the other side to watch. We had slow calm waters. We saw many porpoises, seals, whales and bears.

At the glacier people were feeding the seagulls from the balconies. Some people got pooped on. This was unpleasant and we had to asked people above our balcony to stop. Our deck was not covered. The birds kept coming and would land on the railings.
