We made plans for this Alaska cruise only 5 weeks before embarkation so we could be with friends from high school. Our TA did a wonderful job getting everything arranged.

Our flight from Dallas to Seattle, arrived on time at 9:15 AM. After retrieving our luggage we made a short walk to the light rail station at Sea-Tac Airport. We caught a train to Westlake Station downtown. This took about 40 minutes and there was plenty of room on board for our bags. Once downtown, it was an easy walk to street level and hailed a cab to the pier. Once at the pier, the embarkation checkin process took about 15 minutes, We were on board by 11:05 am. The light rail only cost $3 each and the cab was only $14 from downtown. $20 vs. $45+ for a cab from Sea-Tac. Highly recommend.

Our stateroom was made available by 1:00 PM and our luggage was delivered by 2:30.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Veranda 2A

Cabin 2A

The cabin was mid-ship. Our stateroom attendant, Marlon, and his assistant, Elmer, did an excellent job having our cabin cleaned daily. Marlon thanked us mid way through our cruise for us keeping the cabin picked up so he could clean it more easily. He said so many just leave clothes where they were dropped when taken off.

This stateroom had plenty of storage in both the cabin and bathroom. We were unaware of two huge storage bins above the bed, until we were on our third day. We thought it was for extra pillows and blankets.

If there was a negative concerning this stateroom, it would be we were only one deck above the lifeboats and we could not look directly down at the water. On a day we had rough seas, we were thankful it was mid-ship.

Port Reviews

Ketchikan

We went on a self guided walking tour of Ketchikan. Afterward, wanting to stop for a drink before returning to the ship, we asked someone where there was a place to watch sports on TV while having a drink. He suggested Mike's Elbow Room. This place was small and catered to the locals. Everyone in this place was friendly and made us feel welcome. Someone even bought us a round of drinks.

Seattle

Our experience with Seattle has come from previous trips there. A very clean city.

This trip was only from the airport to ship and back.

Victoria

We got off the ship and just took a walk through the pier area to get some exercise. There is a nice walk out on the breakwater to a navigational light. Would be a good place to take photos.

Juneau

Due to rain and having to tender ashore, we did not get off the ship. From our veranda, we did watch a lot of eagles soaring overhead. Some came within a 100 feet of us. Beautiful!
