This was our first time cruising with Norwegian, so I wasn't really sure what to expect. When we first arrived at port we were a little underwhelmed, though it is more the doing of Miami's port area rather than the cruise line. Once on board, things quickly improved. We found the boat clean and modern, but then again it is only two years old.

What we liked about the cruise: The ship has plenty of activities on board and the entertainment was great. The cruise director is heavily involved in making sure there is something going on and he seems to be running around with boundless energy. Million Dollar Quartet is a must see on the ship, but the other entertainment from comedians to most of the musical acts were well worth it as well. I loved having the ropes course as well, even though I'm not a huge fan of of heights. I'm also no much of a drinker normally, but having the unlimited beverage pass along with bars at every corner made it a very enjoyable time.

Things that could be improved: Dining. This is pretty hit or miss. Ocean Blue was great, but La Cucina (not sure about the spelling) was nothing spectacular. Free dining options are good, but the menus could be expanded. O'Sheehans, for example, wasn't bad but I would like to have had better selections. The buffet could definitely be improved as well and the food rotated out more so you don't eat the same thing every single day. Service is also pretty hit or miss. While some of the staff provided top class service, others looked absolutely miserable and ready to jump ship. Also, the pool area of the ship is too small for a boat this size so it leads to a ton of overcrowding and a deck full of lounge chairs "reserved" for no one in particular. Of course, to be fair, some of these people may have been in the pool but we experienced the same thing in the thermal spa area, which was simply unacceptable in my opinion.

Miami

The cruise terminal at Miami could use some improvements. We parked and transported our luggage over to the terminal. After winding our way through the line we're told by security to cross the street and turn our luggage in. Thanks for not saying something when you saw us get in line. Several other people had the same issue. The staff inside wasn't much better and yes, I realize we're in Miami but speaking English legibly would help things out across the board.
