Sail Date: May 2016
Cabin: Balcony

Have cruised different lines: Costa, Celebrity, Holland America, Royal Caribbean and Princess. So far, Princess offers best in terms of food and services with Costa being worst (very poor indeed).

We had excellent weather throughout the entire trip so that makes the cruise more pleasurable.

Regal Princess is one of the newer ship, we were on Emerald Deck balcony with obstructed view although that did not matter much as we did not use the balcony at all. Having outside light is not bad indeed.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin BW

Size is very good with more than enough storage area which is convenient. Bathroom good size with racks and Corian counter top making bathroom look very tidy and clean. Housekeeper Vlad is very diligent and friendly.

Port Reviews

Copenhagen

We stayed at Wakeup Copenhagen which is pretty much in the center of town so we could simply walk around to a few tourist attractions. Channel cruise very good. One thing to note, there are at least two companies offering the channel cruise, one is right at the front of the pier and the other about 20 meters down the first one. Price-wise, second one is only 50% of the price of the first one with the exact same length and points of interest. The very first one (down the steps from the pier near the toilets) did not deal too honestly as we tried to get on a boat with glass top. The guy claimed that they have it but later found out these other ships are operated by the other company. On a windy day or if you have elderly person traveling along, glass top boats are more preferable. So do walk around and compare first.

Oslo

Hop on and off can do the tour real easily.

Berlin

Leisurely walk.

Tallinn

Suggest not evening taking the bus offered by cruise company to old town unless you have people having difficulty walking a short distance. We met people from ship saying that they paid 10 dollars to get on the bus and in a few minutes, they get off already (not really worth the money). Tallinn is very easy to walk around and the walk back and forth to ship is also very easy - Just follow the crowd and in 10 minutes, you are there.

St. Petersburg

Only one word to describe the palaces and churches we went - WOW!

Except for the tour guide a bit hard to understand, the points of interest were all very impressive.

St. Petersburg

Not bad but not as impressive as the other places visited in St. Petersburg.

Helsinki

Hop on and Off can do.

Stockholm

Very interesting port of call with much to see. Watch your time and make sure you reserve ample time to travel back to ship (train schedule not as frequent as one may think and it took 1.5 hours on the way back vs 65 minutes on the way out to town.
