This is not a cruise ship. I repeat this is not a cruise ship. This is a floating city complete with an ice skating rink, basketball court, great dining and plenty of activities for every age and activity level.
I cruised with a group of 24 adults. Some first timers, many had cruised on five or more cruises. I have cruise previously on RCCL, Celebrity and Princess. We all rated this among our favorite cruise.
Embarkation : Arrived at Port Everglades at about 10:15 and was on board the ship sitting in Windjammers by 11:30. The longest wait was for the Coast Guard to clear the RCCL employees. (CG pulled a surprise inspection). Tip: Get to the port early.
Close to elevator. Two twin size bed, with full size sleeping sofa. Ocean view. There are two deck chairs on the balcony. Room was kept spotless. Felt a little tight with three adults but we made it work.
Walked off the ship and took a private tour with 15 other guests. Seemed to us like the tour guides are in with the shop owners for them to bring you there to shop. Stopped at a beautiful beach for 10 minutes and shops for 20 to 30 minutes. Paid $20 per person. Will not do again.
Walked to the Port and took a trolley around the island. Not recommended. Will pre-plan next time I visit.
Took the watertaxi ($7 ) from the port to the beach. Shops in walking distance from the beach. Paid $25 for two beach chairs and 5 drinks (water and soda).
Came in a day early and stayed at the Residence Inn Fort Lauderdale Intracoastal/Il Lugano which was perfect. Booked a studio with water view. The free breakfast was good. Had dinner at Greek Island Staverna which was delicious. Took Uber to the Port for $12.00.
