Long awaited couples holiday. Issues unfortunately started even before we got on the ship. Total disorganisation at the luggage drop off at the port, no direction from the MSC staff. The MSC cruise registration person that we met took our photographs, to link up with our cruise card, 3 times and still manged to some how link my photograph with my Husbands cruise card which resulted in our going to the registration desks three times and going through security checks as many times before we even got on the ship. No apologies offered. There was no time to explore our city of departure before the cruise or on the last day of our holiday.

Very few of MSC staff were interested in being of service. Most of the staff made us feel like we were a nusiance even if we merely asked for directions. While cleaning staff hoovered and tidied our cabin everyday, flip flops and a cocktail stick from the previous guests of the cabin remained there the entire week of our cruise. The ensuite of cabin was adequate, could be cleaner. Our cabin was on the 13th deck, we didn't sleep for the entire week for more than 3-4 hours. We felt and heard what seemed like ever noise made on the ship, the deck chairs being dragged out every morning at 5:30am. The ship gearing up and down, breaking etc.

Food was average, dinner in the evenings in the Golden Lobster restaurant was just about edible, waiting staff not interested in serving anyone one that wasn't italian speaking. The show each night was only 30 minutes long and not great quality. Assembly for excursions took place in the theatre each morning but to get there you had to walk through the smoke filled casino. Our departure from the Ship to the airport was too late to make our flight home without running.

Cabin Review

Ok. Ensuite tight. Both cabin and ensuite could be cleaner.

Valencia

Fine, but shuttle bus drop off wasn't in a useful location.

Genoa

Port a short distance from the town, not a great area though.
