Viking has it all - hands down!!! Everything was taken care of from our arrival to departure. The ship was always spotless. The Captain & crew were just so friendly. The food on board was excellent - no outstanding! The entertainment was just right - not too loud or too long. Every one of the crew were outstanding when it came to service. The chef personally came around to every table at dinner time to check & make sure everyone was satisfied with the food.

The program director, Ulrike, was just so helpful & friendly. Max, the concierge, was just an incredible help at assisting us in Budapest with a minor problem & went far & beyond out of his way to solve it for us. The shore excursions were well managed & gave us so much more of an insight into the countries we visited. Viking provides you with maps of the ports where we stopped, which made it incredibly easy to get around.

We REALLY enjoyed our home visit in Slovakia & would highly recommend it even though you then will not have any time to explore Bratislava. As a paid excursion the home visit was the best value for our money. We enjoyed shopping in Cesky Krumlov for crystal & in Budapest for Herend porcelain. We cannot wait to take our next Viking cruise.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Stateroom with Window

Cabin D

The cabin was somewhat small. The bathroom was nice, BUT the shower, however, was just outstanding. Water was instantly hot & the water pressure was wonderful. We just wished we had a shower head like that in our home in Arizona! One day the cabin's air conditioning died. We notified the front desk, who said it would be fixed & left for an excursion. Upon our return, the A/C was not fixed & it was over 85 degrees in our cabin at 9 PM. Called the front desk again & they sent the ship's engineer who fixed the problem in about 15 minutes. The maid kept the cabin immaculately clean at all times.

Port Reviews

Passau

Enjoyed our first taste of Germany.

Cesky Krumlov

The views from the castle were outstanding. Local food was very good. Enjoyed shopping for crystal.

Bratislava

We did the private home tour. There were only 4 of us on the tour. This was probably the BEST excursion we took. The home's owner was so informative & answered all of our questions. As a sideline, they made folk type pottery & we purchased several pieces. We really learned a lot about life in Slovakia, especially after communism. Sadly, because we took the home tour we had no time to explore Bratislava, altho we were given a quick drive thru tour. We would have liked to have seen the castle & done a little bit of shopping. In sum, the stop at this ort was too short.
