We chose the Danuabe Waltz River cruise to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. Very glad we did. Once we landed in Munich we were met by Viking staff. Our luggage was delivered to our suite when we arrived at our port city of Passua. From that point forward we were treated like royalty. The Viking Prestige longboat was perfect. It is set up for 188 passengers, however we had just 140 passengers, so it was never crowded nor were we ever rushed. Our cabin was small but very adequate because all you need to do there is sleep.
The food onboard was fantastic. Our servers were always there to look after our every need and to make food selections from the menu. There were regional food selections as well "always on the menu" Sirlion Steak and Roasted Chicken for those who wanted more traditional food. There was a 24 hour coffe bar that my wife made big use of.
Shore excursions were fantastic. Most are free with a few optional paid excursions. They all were very well organized. The free headsets provided for the shore excursions really were great for keeping up with our tour guides. You could hear their comments very well over others tour groups around you. Our favorite two were the day long excursion to Cesky Krumlov in the Czech Republic and the evening concert in Vienna. I would skip the Horse Farm excursion in Budapest if I knew what the tour was. But that is just my opinion. Our two favorite ports were Vienna and Budapest. We arrived in Budapest around 10:00 PM so the Captian sailed us a bit down the Danuabe and back to get the most beautiful sights of Budapest all light up during the night. We were moored at the foot of the Chain Bridge in Budapest. Great location for walking self tours of the city.
Excellent though a bit small. Full sliding Windows to the outside. Bathroom Amenities were excellent. The bed was very comfortable. In room safe where we stored our passports and other valuables.
Rainy day but very good.
Not a long stay in this port, but enough time for a self guided walking tour.
