This was our 2nd cruise and our first one on NCL. We decided to choose NCL this time because the price was right and we were interested to find out what "freestyle cruising" is all about. We did have a wonderful vacation but I will give you the highs and lows of our experience on the NCL Dawn, then compare our overall experience with our other cruise on the RC's Enchantment of the Seas.

HIGHS:

Freestyle cruising was awesome! We had read mixed reviews of other people's opinions of this, but we thought it was perfect for the way we like to vacation! We particularly enjoyed the options it provided: not having to feel as though we needed to shower and change from our "beachwear" before going to lunch. Obviously, you cannot wear your bathing suit, but as long as you had normal clothes on, it didn't matter what they were. We loved that you could wear shorts to lunch! Also, the many dining options at the times that worked for us, was GREAT! Feeling as though we could have a private dinner by ourselves if we wanted was wonderful instead of feeling obligated to talk to your tablemates as you do on other cruiselines. When we did want to dine with a group of people, we could choose to do so. It was just so nice to have OPTIONS!

GREAT closet space and storage under the bed for suitcases. Beds were extremely comfortable. Balcony was amazing! Nice access to elevators, yet it was not noisy outside of our room. Bathroom was more spacious than RC's!
