We have always wanted to see the glaciers and the Alaskan wildlife. Seeing Alaska this way is the only way to do it. The ports are unremarkable, but the scenery is amazing. We had the best possible weather the week we went. We could go ten more times and not have as great a week as we did. This is a once in a lifetime experience. I don't know how people can do this cruise multiple times however. I would rather see something new. There were not many kids on this cruise, ours were 4 and 6. They still had a great time at the kids club and watching movies poolside wrapped in blankets. The memories we have from this trip will always be special. We saw orca and grey whales and even beluga whales from the bus from the ship to the airport. We saw Alaskan otters, many types of birds, and other animals. The novelty of seeing the ice floating near the ship never wore off and the sounds of the glacier as we observed it made having a balcony worth its weight in gold.

Cabin Review

Balcony

The kids loved the bunk bed and traded off each night. The balcony was great for listening to the glacier without the noise of the crowds up on deck. Having two TV's helped during the relaxing time, although the programming was limited.

Port Reviews

Vancouver

Beautiful, gorgeous, amazing city to wander around. The line-ups to check in at Canada Place were HORRENDOUS. Our four year old said "this is the worst cruise ever!" at least twice during the wait. Once we were on the ship, it was worth it. We recommend hitting the dining room for your first meal of the cruise while still in port.

Skagway

A typical US tourist city. Close enough to walk to, but not much there but the same shops and restaurants as in every other Alaskan port.

Ketchikan

Nothing special, nice scenery from the bay, the town again is not that impressive. It is good to be able to walk easily into town however.
