We arrived at Fort Lauderdale airport promptly at 9:30 am. We flew in through Spirit Air. Not worth the savings. The plane was dirty, gum stuck to seats, pop smeared on the windows and old garbage on floor and in the chair pockets. Too many hidden costs big advice: fly another airline! Our flight home, just as bad. Very bumpy and unsteady. We bounced more here then on the ship the whole week! We bought passports before the trip we did not need.
Embarkation was longer than I had previously read on the critic reviews. We did not get on the boat until after 12:30. First stop, lunch. Garden buffet ok, your normal buffet fare. Muster drill in the restaurant big waste, didn't teach us much, no mention of which boat to take in case of evacuation. Bags in rooms at 2 pm. Room was aft on 8th floor, outside state room. Pretty room, very comfortable bed. Bathroom was small, the configuration of toilet room was a joke. My husband is tall and thin and couldn't move in there. Room steward pleasant, nice towel animals everynight. All linens delivered as expected, room cleaned expertly daily.
We watched the sail away from Miami. This was really nice. Started with a $10 drink which was not worth it. Hint #2...rum runners...look it up online! There is a constant hawking of drinks that continues for the entire cruise. Drink prices are outrageous, had they lowered prices, they'd sell more drinks. We did attend a Lattitudes party with free drinks one afternoon, this was nice.
Nice closet, lots of room. Bathroom configuration not good. Seperate toilet room beyond small! Need a better fan system, always steamed up and muggy. Bedroom was nice. Loved the bed, beyond comfortable! Temperature nice. There were people above us up all night...everynight until 3 or 4. Need to get a better handle on security for this.
