This was a first cruise for my husband and myself. Had no idea what to expect, as we heard many less than positive reviews about Carnival cruises from friends.

Yes, the port at Charleston is less than "up to date" but the staff was efficient and worked well with what they have. Yes, the ship is older, but so is our home and many hotels we have stayed in. More important is it was in good repair and clean. Staff was constantly working to keep things "ship shape". Found our trip to be wonderfully relaxing and pleasant.

Our cabin was kept up by a steward that seemed to work 24/7. The food was abundant and dinners were delicious. The most amazing day at Half Moon Cay. While us cruisers enjoyed the island and all it offered, again the staff was hard at work making sure we did. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We look forward to planning another cruise with Carnival because of this experience. Read more
