• Background information
This was a “solo” cruise for me and my husband. When I say solo, I mean that we weren’t traveling with any other people. That doesn’t happen very often, but we were celebrating our 15th Wedding anniversary on this cruise and felt that we should leave the others behind. DH is 36 and I am 42. We have cruised a few times before (4 times for DH and 6 for myself) and this was our second on Royal Caribbean and the Adventure of the Seas.

We had a Superior Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony (8246) that we lucked into when picking a balcony guarantee. The room was very spacious and there was plenty of storage. This was our first balcony on RCI and I have to admit that even on deck 8, the balconies seemed a little closed in to me compared to what I have had on Carnival ships. But we enjoyed it none the less and spent time out there when we could. Also, this cabin was right behind the forward elevators. We were worried about that at one point, but we never heard any extra noise and it was super convenient.
