We chose this cruise as we wanted a week's holiday without the inconvenience of airports and the dates worked nicely for us. This was our first cruise with Princess, and I had heard great things from colleagues.

Embarkation was smooth and efficient. We were onboard with time to enjoy a relaxed lunch before the muster drill. Our balcony cabin was clean and ready for our arrival. Our cabin steward introduced himself and subsequently offered a cheerful greeting each time we saw him.

The decor throughout the ship, including the cabin, is very similar to other ships we have been on. We found the bed to be comfortable, although the pillows were too soft for our liking, and the bathroom was small but adequate. The toiletries provided in the shower cubicle are in a pair of awkwardly-placed pump-action dispensers, one showergel, the other a shampoo/conditioner combo. The cabin and balcony are a good size. There are no in-cabin facilities for making hot beverages.
