We chose the cruise for the destination itinerary, but was recommended P&O by a family member.

The destinations did not disappoint and we thoroughly enjoyed each day on land.

Our biggest cruise disappointment was the lack of any form of imagination in the menu and the poor food quality. It was bland, overcooked and invariably small portions. It felt that P&O were definitely counting the pennies and giving as little variety and keeping costs down. The dining staff worked very hard and no fault could be levelled on them.

Cabin Review

Balcony Stateroom with Shower

Beds very comfortable we had excellent nights sleep.

We asked for feather pillows and available.

Small room for a balcony cabin, with two chairs and table almost completely filling the balcony.

Everything worked, but repairs on door locks showed three different screw fixations.

Rusty and flaking paint on the floor of balcony.

Numerous problems with the sewage system. Not working, toilet overflowing and spills into corridor and cabins.

Port Reviews

Naples

We did our own thing and walked around Naples and visited the Subterreanean Tunnels. Had a really interesting day.

Dubrovnik

We walked and walked and walked. Did the walks early in the morning and then went to the top of the hill over Dubrovnik via cable car.

Easy to do on your own. Get a guide book before you go.

Venice

We walked and used the vaporetti. Excellent day.

Weather the second day rain, so did less.

Back at the ship soaked.

Zadar

Poor weather limited our activities.

Less to see than anticipated, not a really good port for a full day.

Villefranche

Did our own thing.

Went to Monaco for the Historic Grand Prix.

The boat charged £116 for the experience. We were charged 6 euros for the return train trip and 35 euros to enter any stand. 41 euros, around £35, compared with the exorbitant cost the boat charged - you got a pack lunch with the boat (we think).

Corsica (Ajaccio)

Enjoyed Ajaccio but prices in the town reflected by more cruise lines calling there.

Would certainly suggest staying on the island and exploring for a few days, but stay out of the very high tourist areas.

Rome (Civitavecchia)

Stayed in Civitavecchia, as we know Rome well.

Enjoyed what the town had to offer, certainly not as pricey as many of the other stops.

We got coffee and lovely pineapple sweet for two for 5.4 euros.

Bargain.
