This was my husband and my first time on the Breeze. It was the Breeze's first cruise out of Galveston. This was my second time cruising, both with Carnival. To begin with, the assigned staggerd check in was genius! Thank you Carnival. We chose the 11-11:30 window and arrived right in time. Because of this, I saw no need for a FTTF pass. The only time we had to wait was maybe 30 minutes in an air-conditioned seating area for them to call our group number. When we arrived, they were on 2 and we were in group 10. It moves quickly though. We went to our room (2325) and dropped off our carry on bags then went to Blue Iguana for lunch. As we are eating, our favorite cocktail server from our last cruise, Made walks by! He remembered us from last May, and it was a pleasant surprise to see him again. After lunch we head back to our room, hoping our luggage would be there, as we were told it should be there by 1:30. It was more like 3 p.m. before it arrived, but it wasn't a huge deal. I was hoping to enjoy the pool, but the Galveston weather wasn't cooperating, so we took a nap while awaiting our muster meeting.

Our cruise director was Mike from the UK, and we rather enjoyed him. I thought he was very funny, friendly, outgoing and available. My favorite activity was the Trivia parties. Mike dressed up from whatever decade the trivia was from and encouraged audience participation. It was a great time, and hilarious! After trivia, we enjoyed the comedy. All the comedians were entertaining, whether is was the PG or the adults-only show. However, if you're easily offended, I suggest you skip the later shows. I really enjoyed Scott in the piano bar on the Freedom last year, but did not care to visit the piano bar on this cruise. We enjoyed watching the Love & Marriage show but didn't view any of the Playlist productions shows this go round. They just seem kind of cheesy. As a matter of fact, one of the shows 88 Keys, they did on our last cruise.

We mostly ate dinner in the MDR with your time dining. The food was pretty good, but there were a few meals I wouldn't order again, including the curry shrimp and Mahi Mahi. Both of which were bland and the Mahi was actually fishy, which is unusual. The stand out servers were Yoyo from India and Ibrahim. We were always running into them and both were always working hard but with a smile and positive attitude. We enjoyed the sea day brunch twice and we both ate the steak and eggs both times, which was DELICIOUS. The steak was filet mignon, so that's a bonus. We ate at Blue Iguana four times between breakfast and lunch. I enjoyed the huevos rancheros for breakfast and for lunch I preferred the make your own burritos over the tacos. The burritos offered more variety of ingredients including 2 types of beans and shrimp. Guy's burgers were good, as always, and we ate there twice. I love the ringer. My husband ate at the Lido marketplace most mornings for breakfast before I got up, and he liked that. We also had Pizza Pirate twice, both late night dinner. The first time, we just had pizza. The second we enjoyed Pizza Plus, which is only offered from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. and had a chicken parmesan sandwich which was excellent. We never made it for Italian, Indian or the deli. I don't even know when the Indian restaurant was open, as it was never listed on our daily itinerary from some reason. I did hear from a fellow cruiser that it was good and authentic. We paid the extra fee and enjoyed the steakhouse for dinner one night. IMO, it is well worth it for the better food and excellent service. You get a 5 star experience for only $35 per person. That price includes appetizer, entree, your choice of side and dessert. The steakhouses I know of, you only get steak for that price.

Cabin 7C

Nicer than I was expecting, as my first cruise we had a suite. It was helpful to have a shower curtain, vs a door as have more room that way. Plenty of space between 3 closets, drawers and cabinets. I enjoyed being in a lower floor, as I rarely felt the boat move.
