This was only our second cruise and both with Celebrity. We just loved everything about it, from the shows, entertainment, activities, dining, comfort, staff, shopping etc. We cannot say enough about the staff right throughout the ship. Every one of them makes you feel welcome.
This trip and our last (Alaska) is more for adults than children and this time as the last, there were very few children onboard. The entertainment and activities are mostly geared toward middle age and up but the muted disco nights at Martini Bar was good for anyone aged teenager and up, as were the disco nights in the Constellation. There are activities available for children too but to be honest, I'd be bored if I was an active kid on a cruise such as this. Obviously babies and toddlers wouldn't know the difference though.
Captain Berdos was wonderful, personable and humorous and all his staff were fantastic, from officer status through to cleaning staff. Every one you passed acknowledged and greeted you with a smile. Our stateroom attendants Bartholome and Frank were fantastic - nothing was too much trouble. On both our Celebrity cruises, we witnessed constant cleaning and hand sanitising which ensures the safety and health of the guests. One lovely guy was constantly cleaning stairway railings and greeted everyone with a smile.
It was the same as the last time we cruised (on sister ship Millenium) which was comforting as we were able to settle in immediately. We had reviewed many cruise critic.com tips and youtube cruising tips which were fantastic for making the best use of the limited storage space. We actually didn't even have to use all the cupboards as a result of the great tips we found.
We were staying at the Holiday Inn Port of Miami for three days before the cruise. Super location and close to everything you'd want to see in this area.
Again, too much time dedicated to visiting churches and not enough to shopping for different souvenirs than you'd ever see in America or Europe. With only one chance to visit Central America, we didn't wish to be spending precious time in churches. However, Antiqua was very interesting and it was amazing to see a totally different country to our own.
Because we hadn't enjoyed the previous Mexico excursion, we actually cancelled the one we had booked for Cabo. We were glad we did as we had a lovely few hours walking through the lovely town and marina areas, with plenty of time to look for different souvenirs and chat with some of the vendors.
