Sail Date: Apr 2016
Cabin: Concierge Class 3

This was our 15th Cruise. Majority of which have been with Celebrity who we had found to give a luxury cruise in the past.

Sadly with all the cutbacks they have made, they no longer deserve the heading of luxury. All the little touches which we enjoyed like fresh flowers in the cabin when you arrived (just a few in a vase) - gone, cotton wool etc. gone. The staff are issued insufficient toiletries to keep all their cabins stocked (expectation that not everyone will use them) So dont expect them to be topped up during the cruise.

The quality of the food was very hit and miss. A few meals excellent but the majority very average and some poor. In the main dining room service was excellent (staff were all excellent throughout the ship, to the degree they felt like robots - however their is a feeling this is through fear of bad reviews and demotion - we heard some sad tales from several we spoke with) having said this they were all very professional.

Cabin Review

Concierge Class 3

Cabin C3

Very tired and certainly did not feel like luxury. Curtain tie backs frayed. TV screen damaged- black line across picture.

Door hanging off cabinet. Poor paintwork on balcony-

When reporting these we were told that they had all these issues on 'their list' and the cabin was due for refurbishment. - So why was it in use and full charges being made.

The issues were all dealt with and by the last day - our cabin was as we would have expected to be when we boarded. I hope the next occupants were grateful !!!

Port Reviews

Barcelona

We just boarded at Barcelona - but a great city to visit

Palma de Mallorca (Majorca)

Enjoyed the port and shopping there.

Malta (Valletta)

Beautiful as you sail in - but the port town did not live up to how it looked as we arrived. Others who went on tours gave mixed reviews.

Rome (Civitavecchia)

We just wandered into port and found the small town to be delightful

Corsica (Ajaccio)

Despite the very rude frenchman who pretended not to understand us - it was a lovely town and very pretty. Market was wonderful - full of cheeses, fruit and meats YUM !
