This was our third cruise, and this review is aimed mainly at the ship itself. Our last cruise was The Panama Canal in September 2014 aboard the Norwegian Jewel, having previously cruised from Bangkok to Beijing on board the Diamond Princess. We enjoyed the cruise on board the Jewel, with it's 'freestyle' cruising so decided to give a different ship a try. As we are retired, and now living in Lanzarote we decided to look for an itinerary which included returning to Barcelona, this making it easier for us to return home, and not involving a long return flight as had been the case on the previous two cruises. The journey from home to Orlando, where we boarded the Spirit involved 15 hours flying, over two days with a stop overnight at Gatwick.

So we had 4 weeks booked on board which was B2B2B, Eastern Caribbean, Western Caribbean and Transatlantic to Barcelona.

When booking our cruise we were well aware that The Spirit was a somewhat smaller ship and also relatively an older vessel. We then started to do some further research into what was on offer with The Spirit, mostly by reading the various reviews. Although the reviews were spread over quite a long period of time, we were somewhat suprised at the vast contrast of reviews even when some were of the exact same cruise.
