All started out just fine with alot of anticipation about finally getting to see Hawaii after 50 + years. Embarkation was good with very little wait and the lines were semi short. Got to our room right away and luggage followed within one hour. Went to the Horizon Court (Lido deck) for some buffet food and it was just okay but nothing out of the ordinary compared to other cruise lines and ships for the first day.

Five days at sea was something I had not done before and for the first 4 days it was pleasant and I was having a great time. Then the captain came on the speaker during dinner about 4 days into the cruise and announced that a lot of people were sick and he was ordering that several safety and health precautions were to be taken by crew and passengers. Most of the food at that point, especially at the buffet was covered with plastic and the crew was serving us....we could not pour our own drinks, use salt and pepper shakers or even reach for a sugar packet.

We were in Hilo on day 5 and Honolulu on day 6 and all was fine till the evening of Honolulu when I got violently ill with vomiting and diarreha for hours. My room mate got sick also and we were sequestered to our room for the next 48 hours. We had to cancel our helecopter tour in Kauai but when finally released we made it into Maui for a short stay as I still feeling week and very tired. That day the seas were very rough and the tender were limited and had to go very slow...The wait to get back was over 2 hours of waiting in line.
