This was our second cruise. Our first cruise was on the Carnival Magic. I enjoyed this cruise much much more because it was smaller. No elevator wait times, whereas the Magic was ALWAYS crowded at the elevators. I'm talking elbow to elbow. I think I like the smaller ships. The staff was friendly and efficient.
Only one complaint was they had us line up outside on the deck for the safety briefing and not all elderly or handicapped were accommodated. I think we stood in lines for 45 minutes before the safety briefing started. I am fairly healthy and I about fell out!...so be prepared. Food etc was awesome as usual. The Fun director, Malcom was amazing! They honored the Veterans in a VERY amazing way. Had meetings daily in one of the nicer restaurants and offered tea and desserts. They also had one large ship meeting in the big showroom and honored all services and took a big group picture. Malcom got choked up a time or two and Veterans got to share some stories. It was awesome. We were on the Magic in lat 2014 and they did NOTHING. So they are stepping up. Kudos Carnival!
On the Magic, some of the higher end restaurants offered a non-advertised free lunch in their restaurants. Didn't see this on this Freedom cruise.
was told it was cancelled when we got to shore due to wind and the port being closed. So we shopped, only to find out when we returned to the ship that another beach excursion was offered at a much reduced price. Had we known we would have taken advantage.
Shopped. Been here before, bought a few things. Nice day.
