Sail Date: May 2016

I am not a huge fan of Carnival in general, and the 4-day cruise in particular is best suited to those looking for a loud party boat for a short getaway. But, I LOVE the Carnival Live concert setup, and was thrilled to see my favorite band, Journey, on this sailing. I was even happier to find that somebody was listening when I complained last year about their idiotic ban on photographs at the concert, so we were free to snap away this year.

The Victory is an older and somewhat smaller boat than the one we were on last year. They are doing some refurbishment during their time in port, hence our already-short cruise was further abbreviated by 4 hours, departing 2 hours later and arriving 2 hours earlier than originally scheduled.

Our cabin was reasonably spacious and comfortable, and I was very pleased that the door to the balcony didn't slam shut every time it was opened - more enjoyable to use, and less noisy. Cabin service was excellent, and very friendly. I also really like that Carnival provides self-service laundry facilities, although we didn't use them for this short trip. Food was ok, but nothing great, and bar service in the dining room was very slow.
