I just got back from a 7 day cruise on the Norwegian Escape with my twin sister. My sister and I are in our mid 50's and went without our husbands just for some "girl time." The crowd of people ranged from 30's on up. I personally have been on many cruises but not with Norwegian and was looking forward to comparing. We had a great time!

The pros of the ship are the food is absolutely fabulous! Big portions and no complaints with the taste. Everything was presented well and cannot say more about how good it was. The service aboard the ship is impeccable. All the waiters and waitresses were happy and friendly. The bartenders were eager to get you drinks quickly. The ship is beautiful to say the least. Clean floors, clean tables, clean, clean, clean. The beds were soft and the pillows were great. We did have an inside cabin and it was tiny at 135 sq. feet.

The cons to this ship are that there are so many people. The crowds at times were just horrific. The pools are not large enough to accommodate so many people. There were not enough beach chairs for everyone to sit so you had to go out early morning and reserve your chair which should not be the case. Many times we tried to get an elevator, as there are 17 floors on the Escape and the stairs are steep, and there was no room in the elevator to have two more people get on as it was full. Not enough elevators for 5,000 people. The ship is top heavy so you always feel a little rocking so if you do have motion sickness you need to take something every day. The casino is located on the 7th deck and you can definitely smell the cigarette smoke. Awful business!! The shows on this ship were not to my liking. The breakfast buffet was packed every morning and we had trouble finding chairs to sit.

Cabin Review

Inside Stateroom

Cabin IC

The cabin was very, very tiny. There were no drawers in the room at all to put anything. You have to put your belongings on shelves. The bathroom is huge for a cruise ship room. The water was hot, the sink was big. The beds were very comfortable with great pillows. The air conditioning worked great. The cabin itself was pretty quiet. We heard a few people on the other side of us but not all the time.
