This was my first Celebrity cruise and I was quite disappointed. Embarkation was a little slow at Bayonne. Upon boarding the ship, they had free mimosas and champagne which was nice. The soft serve ice cream machine was broken but they fixed it during the cruise. The buffet was ok with the servers giving you small portions as opposed to you serving yourself (some items you were able to serve yourself). There were no trays to put your plates on so if you wanted 2-3 dishes of food, you were out of luck and had to go back to the buffet station.
What truck me as odd was the lack of tables on the lido/top deck. The deck was filled with lounge chairs and hardly any table to sit and eat. I asked a crew member about where to sit and eat and he said on the lounge chair. So the only place with tables was in the Oceonview café indoors and the very back of the ship which was limited. Our cabin was a balcony and very small. It was difficult to move around. The balcony chairs did not recline! I was unable to nap or relax on my balcony.
The MDR food was usually bland some meals were ridiculously small. The Matre'D's wear regular business suits and somehow, it was quite dull in the dining room with no announcements or entertainment. There were no formal nights just two Evening Chic nights where they promote designer jeans for attire.
Nice port with a lot to see.
This port was average.
