Sail Date: Apr 2016

I went on this cruise for spring week. Family of four, my kids are 13 & 11. This was our first Norweigian cruise, we usually cruise with Royal Caribbean and have cruised with Disney & MSC. I feel Norweigian nickels and dimes you . I booked this cruise a year in advance and when I booked it the restaurant Margaritaville was included , before we sailed I realized Norweigian now charged for this restaurant , I called and asked for a a voucher or credit of some sort so we can have the dining for free at least once as it was included when I originally booked. I was told no and everything was subject to change. I didn't think this was good customer service on their part.

Our first day at sea my 11 year was on the ropes course and slipped and hit his leg on a corner of the course, he wound up getting 5 stitches , although the staff was wonderful getting us to the medical facility and the doctors were excellent in taking care of him and we were not charged for the medical visit, the manager on duty sent us a fruit plate for our inconvenience , I kind of thought this was a little cheesy sending an 11 year old a fruit plate on an all you can eat cruise. Maybe give him a video arcade voucher not a fruit plate. They have beautiful restaurants on the waterfront deck , but each one is an extra charge, even ice cream at the included restaurant O'Sheeans had an extra charge. I thought they had too many little extra charges.

The pools were nice, not enough of them. They have an adult only pool and an adult only section H2O spice and if you pay $10 a person per day another adult only secluded pool. That left one pool for everyone else with kids, now my 13 & 11 year old were forced to swim in a pool with kids in swim diapers , for a ship that big they really needed to add another pool. Beach chairs are very difficult to find, most guests got up early and put their towels on the beach chairs leaving it impossible for the rest of us to get a chair.
