Sail Date: Apr 2016

Cruised 18 days Brisbane, Australia to Hong Kong. Embarkation okay, a few computer problems, but not bad. Cabin very nice - superior balcony, deck 7 #7112. Very roomy, lots of storage, nice bathroom.

Pros: Purchased Ultimate Drink package on sale last year for US$19/day instead of $59.95 - really a steal!; contract entertainers were very good, RC singers and dancers were average for the industry; good service by all "hands on" staff; nice outdoor movie screen; lots of very comfortable public seating; great cabin; temperature on the ship was very well-maintained; although the staff at Guest Services sometimes had issues with English, they always followed up with a call to see if the problem had been resolved; buffet very well-organized, no lines, not much variety - same carrots, cauliflower, broccoli vegetable mix EVERY day, but good Indian food; casino was non-smoking (Yay).

Cons: No self service laundry, laundry "specials" were US$30 for a bag of underwear and PJs only - no outerware (as a result, sometime the ship looked like a Sicilian tenement with laundry hanging from many of the balconies when we were in port - I should have taken a picture!!!); limited choices in the Main DIning room, but the pasta was excellent; the pool deck in the Solarium was very slippery when wet, so I could did swim as that was the only pool with stairs into the pool - a problem for elderly clients; age limits of 65 on some of their shore excursions (2 out of 4 in Palawan); unable to store our suitcases under the bed (smaller ones will probably fit); not every balcony cabin had a refrigerator ( ours did) some guests were upset that they did not; you cannot hear the overhead announcements in your cabin (speakers turned off, no TV channel to turn to)-you have to open your door-ridiculous!; buffet set up in the main dining room for breakfast - if you ordered fruit, yogurt, cereal, etc., you were expected to go get it yourself - the reason most go to dining room is to be waited upon, not carry your own plates; the shore excursion meetings need to be revamped - very inconvenient for the passengers who have to enter the theater, walk down to the stage, and walk back up to the exits, fighting the people coming down. When asked why they did it this way instead of handing out stickers at the entrance, they answered "This way is easier for us.".

Cabin Review

Cabin Superior Ocean View with Balcony

Very roomy, with adequate bathroom. Closet very small, but lots of storage otherwise. Bed very comfortable, nice pillows. Cabin had a refrigerator. Sofa very uncomfortable-had to use the pillows from the bed as supports. You cannot hear overhead announcements when in the room, even though there is a speaker with on/off and vol adjustments in the room. You have to run and open your cabin door There is no TV channel on which to hear those announcements - really a pain!! Balcony was small, but adequate (it is an older ship)
