We haven't sailed on Celebrity in perhaps 10 years. Their ships have interested us, but we continued to sail RCCL in order to attain Diamond status. We knew that Celebrity would honor our RCCL status on their ships. We sailed the Summit because it leaves from NJ, a scant 4 hour drive from home. Furthermore, Bermuda is a favorite destination for us.

So, for our 37th cruise, we choose the Celebrity Summit with, oddly enough, low expectations. I am not sure why I had such expectations. Perhaps it was the age of the ship, lack of dining choices or maybe it's because no one on CC seems to rave about it. Sure, there are great reviews, but no one seems blown away. On the other hand, we sailed the Majesty of the Seas recently (old ship, few dining options) and were very pleasantly surprised. So, we, in our late 50's, climbed aboard the Summit on Mother's Day and headed to Bermuda. This is my 18th review for Cruise Critic.

There is very little bad to say about the Summit. We had a great time. There are a few significant negative points, all of which can be fixed practically overnight, but none of which takes away from a great cruise.

Cabin 10

I really enjoyed our inside cabin on deck 2. It was spacious enough, plenty of storage, and nicely located in between the aft and mid-ship elevators.
