Sail Date: May 2016

We chose this cruise as 3 of the 12 adults sailing were turning 40 years old- This cruise ship was new, great ports and had all kinds of entertainment. Just prior to sailing some of our entertainment was cancelled, which was disappointing. Let me start out by stating the great about this cruise, as there were lots of great. Staff was outstanding, there was never a time that someone was not trying to be helpful. The ship was beautiful and clean. Bathrooms and common area were impeccable, the pool was always crystal clear. The entertainment that we saw, which was illusionarium and vocal overdrive, were great. The food blew everyone's mind. And we cruised with a few hard to please critics, but never a complaint! We chose not to do any specialty dining, as the complimentary food was so delicious. All of the above would entice me to sail with Norwegian again.

My only complaints were regarding their freestyle attitude, which left us asking what was the point of a reservation. We had prepared and reserved for our whole group most of the meal times, entertainment and shows. When we arrived for one show- Burn the Floor- we were told it was full, and when we said we had reserved seats months ago, they told us it was first come, first seated. Same thing for Illusionarium, although we had paid premium prices for floor seating, we still had to stand in line for an hour to ensure we had the best seats. I don't like standing in lines, when I researched months previous.

The only other complaint is something that cannot be changed, but just for folks to be aware, there is only one pool for adults, unless you pay premium for the Haven. On our first day, the kids pool was closed for repairs and they allowed kids into the adult pool, which is not large. No disrespect to those cruising with kids, as I have both gone with and without mine, but on the vacations that I chose to spend with my adult friends and family, I do not feel like being splashed and kicked, and I am positive that the parents were just as unhappy that their kids did not have a place to horse around and be themselves. I wish there had been one more pool in the adult only section, rather than two hottubs in the sun.
