Have been thinking about how to write this since returning. Was on the May 2nd sailing, left extremely disappointed. By now if you have been reading these you know what happened. Two weeks in a row, missed stops in Cozumel. Communication by Carnival was awful, Bottom line, many Passengers left angry with a feeling that Carnival just wasn't honest with them. I get the whole Lemonade out of Lemons concept, things happen on cruise ships. That's much easier to do if you can trust what your being told. I know longer trust Carnival Cruise Lines. What caused the distrust? Here we go.
First thing, Schedule change from Carnival about a week before we left, received by email, the reason "Operational Considerations" Not awful they flipped the port days from Progresso to Cozumel first, OK we can deal with that. Second, Received a call the day before we left. Ship would be late into Galveston for Embark do to "Minor Technical Difficulties" no further explanation. Again, not that big of a deal, we Boarded and left late, Third, Day 2 unannounced schedule change back to the original itinerary, (Progresso) No explanation, no announcement. Back to Progresso first, Not happy about this one. Had to reschedule shore excursion but OK, lets roll with it. Day in Progresso, OK, but not really a place with a lot to do. Leaving Progresso, we push a Mexican Naval Vessel away from the dock with our thrusters, sending it toward the rocks, they recover, we leave and head for Cozumel.
Day 3, arrive in Cozumel, Beautiful day, Cinco Di Mayo, ready for an outstanding day and than it happens. BOOM, the big one!
Booked an Over Sized Ocean View at the back of the ship. A little noisy but that was to be expected.
