Through our five years of sailing with Celebrity, we have noticed a small decline in the amenities, mostly in staffing. The quality of chocolates is very noticeable, but , hey, who needs a chocolate on the pillow! I'd rather them do away with that than cutting the activities staff so thin, they run from one event to another. Also, the entertainment this trip, April 10, was not on its usual par. The singers and dancers were fine performers, it's the shows they perform. They don't really fit with an older crowd in their theme. I realize on a trans-Atlantic that the number of performers cannot be increased due to the lack of ports. Having afternoon matinees was an excellent idea, especially for those who might have missed an evening show. The service at dinner was so slow, it became an issue, especially trying to make it to the shows after dinner. Two hours for dinner is extreme but becoming the norm. How about hiring a few more personnel to speed up the process? I realize it is not a fast food establishment! But an hour at dinner should be the norm unless one wants to linger over a course. Over all, the staff was fantastic is trying to meet the needs of passengers- however, they are only human and can only be in one place at one time! When I became ill, the staff went out of their way, including free water, movies, room service and a refund for the day I was confined to my room.Of course we will travel with Celebrity again! We are fortunate that small things don't really affect our enjoyment, just the guest griping does!
