This was the 2nd Carnival cruise I have been on...and enjoyed it overall. My cabin was fine..with comfy beds and plenty of wardrobe space etc.Towels were changed each day ..and no complaints regarding cabin service . The food was acceptable..but,in my opinion, was not up to the standard of the Miracle last year. ...although the food served in the dining room seemed better than the buffets . Night time saw us enjoying only some of the various options on offer...the piano singalong was particularly fun...and we also managed to see a couple of the shows. ..but,mainly our evenings were spent in the casino...where there was live entertainment too. The Casino got very crowded and it was a chore looking around for a slot machine to play on! I believe one of the main reasons this area was so popular, was because smoking was allowed in it! ...However,as a smoker myself..I was reduced to soliciting an ash tray (which I cleaned and kept in my bag!)....as they were scarce! It was a common complaint that ash trays were not in evidence and people were forced to put their cigarettes out in used glasses etc...which was disgraceful..but..unnavoidable.!!!
The lay out of the ship is very confusing as well...and even after a week on board,I still didnt know which deck to aim for !..LOL. If ,like me,you play a lot on the slots..once you reach a total of 1500 points..displayed on your card..you qualify for free drinks in the casino for the rest of your cruise! I reached this target after 2 days! . The main pool area is huge and as a fair skinned Brit...was almost out of bounds for me as there were NO sunshades at all! Considering the heat of the Caribbean sun..I found this lacking! I must comment on the staff in general on board. Whether they are cabin staff, food or bar staff..its 'service with a smile'....and nothing was too much trouble!! All in all..I thoroughly enjoyed my 8 days on Conquest..and hope you do too!!
large window...comfortable beds...clean sheets and towels etc...plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. no complaints!
