This was our first cruise but unfortunately probably our last with RCI but here is our review anyway. The ship itself is amazing, it's big, huge in fact and is nicely designed with some great public spaces, very clean and a sight to behold.
Dining is very up and down. Breakfast on Port Days was in the Windjammer and other cafes, buffet style but the quality of food was generally poor. We weren't the only ones to complain about this. Also, there are far too many people in there no matter what time you go, you can get food quite easily but maybe not a table to eat it at. On sea days the main restaurants are open so you can sit down to a proper breakfast although food quality is not really concurrent with the price of the cruise. Evening meals in the main restaurants, however, are normally very good and even though they are pretty much full the service just about manages to keep up which is good. Formal evenings are not enforced, just in case you were wondering about the need for a suit etc, it would be nice for everyone to dress up but they have paid their money so can wear what they like I suppose.
Entertainment on the whole is actually good, better than the entertainment in most hotels. We watched Mama Mia, adapted from Broadway/West End. It was not quite as polished but was still very good. Other highlights included the comedy nights and the water show. The problem here is the shows are booked before you even set foot on the boat as Royal Caribbean allow you to do this from home. Unfortunately they managed to lose all the stuff we booked from Internet to Waiver forms.
Cabin had a balcony overlooking the ocean, was a decent size, very clean and a good home from home. Any european travellers take note they do have 220V power so you can bring your own kit if you want (or use a EU adapter if from the UK).
Does the job of getting you on the boat. Staff are generally efficient but lack any character or thought of their own.
Piece of a country sectioned off from the people that live there. Nice enough beach although water is very rocky underfoot. Loads of activities to do, at a slightly ridiculous price. $30 for a sun bed is one example.
