We originally tried to do this Southern Caribbean cruise in Sept, 2015, however, the first port was our last, as the engine room of the carnival Liberty caught fire and the cruise was over. Carnival flew most passengers home and refunded all the cost of the cruise plus a 50% off voucher for a future cruise. THIS WAS IT. A repeat cruise at half price. (we did have to pay all the taxes and port fees, etc.)

Older ship, the Fascination. Refurbished in 2015, they say. Stateroom was small even by Carnival standards, but clean and well serviced. Dining room food and table service were very good. The buffet on the Lido deck was same old, same old carnival fare with very poor service from the serving staff, very few of whom seemed to speak or understand English or Spanish.

Entertainment nightly was nothing special most nights, and horrible the night the "Famous Hypnotist" who pretended to put twelve passengers to sleep (and all twelve pretended to fall for it. )

Kept bumping my head on the bunk beds built into the wall. Very small cabin, even by Carnival standards.
