We choose this cruise which was a repositioning cruise from LA to Van Couver so that we couls compair this cruise line to Holland America. We have cruised Princess previously and had an amzing experience on the Crown Princess. This cruise was a huge disappointment. The staff was not up to snuff. We only saw our room steward twice during the five day cruise and we asked him a question to check into and he never got back to us. There was no top sheet on the bed and so we had a comforter someone ese used on top of us. (personally this just wseems a little creepy) We asked about this at the front desk and they could not answer why.

Princess advertises the "Chocolate Journeys" where there is a specialty desert each night on the menu. The first night it was on the menu. The second night it was not and we inquired with our wait staff and the server was rude and we asked for the Matrede and he was told us they do not do that and never have and when we challenged him he said it takes four days to prepare a desert and it is not possible. I do not mind being told they do not provide that any longer , regardless of the advertising, but I do not appreciate being treated like I am stupid. (Four days to make a simple deserrt)

This was also a birthday cruise for my wife and I noted this celebration on the website prior to the cruise. On the designated day they left a card in our cabin to give to the staff at dinner for a special celebration. We did this and we ate dinner and nothing special occurred. I did notice that our server had the card clipped to his clipboard as we left. I went to customer dservice and explained what happened and asked if we could get another card to try again the next day. later that evening we returned to our room and a piece of cake was in our room. (I must say eating a piece of cake in your cabin is not special) In general I thought the staff was unattentive and rude or at least very distracted.
