Last year our family spent our first ever cruise on Royal Caribbean's "Serenade of the Seas". That ship sparkled and was just charming. We were enchanted with our first cruise experience, and we were looking forward to this year's adventure. Whoa!! We were under the impression that Celebrity was to be a cut above the Royal Caribbean experience, but we absolutely, hands down, all agreed that this was not the case with the Celebrity "Century" ship.

While I have to say that the service in general was good on the "Century", nothing about this cruise compared to our first experience.

The outside areas of the ship were not attractive. Very disappointing. Wooden railings and wood trim had seen better days. The windows inside and out always seemed dirty (or worn out maybe from the sea air?). In all fairness some of the public areas inside the ship were attractive, and I didn't notice as much wear and tear inside the ship like on the outside.

Cabin Review

We were in a concierge class cabin with a balcony and it was fine. A bit small, but OK. Some of the materials covering chairs etc. were worn and stained, but not really bad.
