We booked this, our first cruise ever aboard the NCL Getaway for May 2016 to the western carribean ports of Roatan, Belize, Costa Maya and Cozumel.

My overall rating of the cruise would be an 8/10 or excellent. While there is always room of improvement, I think that NCL did a great job of trying to make the cruise experience as enjoyable as possible for me an my family. Below are a highlight of the good and not so good aspect of the cruise:

Roatan

Very informative and enjoyable tour of the coral reef. The boat tour itself was a little short though.

Costa Maya

This area was the definition of a tourist trap. Beautiful location, although everything here revolved around the tourist industry and their service. You are constantly harassed by street vendors or sales people with $$ signs in their eyes. I understand that people need to make a living but with prices on the higher side for a Caribbean port, it's best to leave the wallet on the ship!
