My wife and I were intrigued by this cruise to Bermuda as we had been there 36 years ago and loved it. I noted that the Celebrity Summit was going to spend three days in Bermuda, unlike other ships which were docked for only a day or two. Also we had never cruised Celebrity but had heard many good things about it.

We enjoyed the cruise, though Bermuda was somewhat of a disappointment because we found that the capital, Hamilton, where we had spent much of our time 36 years ago, had been built up to such an extent that it lost the charming character that it had at the time. Also, due to weather conditions, the Captain decided to leave one day early, which was the right decision but it did limit the time we could have spent seeing other parts of the island.

The Summit is a beautiful ship and its Captain, Kate McCue, was excellent, keeping in constant communication with the passengers and explaining what we were doing and why. She emphasized over and over that her primary concern was the safety of the passengers and crew, a message that I really appreciated, particularly in light of the recent incident involving The Anthem of the Seas, which was caught in a terrible storm when its captain decided to proceed instead of turning back which, in retrospect, he should have done.

Very enjoyable and educational. Loved the rum swizzle!
