This is our 5th cruise on Carnival. This is also our last cruise on Carnival. The ports were great. The people who hosted the excursions were great. The crew of the ship and the service, not so much. In fact, things started going wrong from Day 1 and there were so many incidents, we had to make a list! So here's what happened. We sailed on Sunday. On Monday, we reported to our cabin steward that the hair dryer was malfunctioning. In fact, it was not generating heat, except it was generating smoke. Fire is the biggest hazard on board a ship and we immediately reported the malfunctioning dryer to the appropriate personnel because of this concern. The blow dryer was never replaced. There were no robes provided. The refrigerator was not operational. Other guests were smoking pot and cigarettes in interior cabins. We did not receive room service coffee delivery 3 days in a row. The slot machines ate our winnings. According to the casino personnel, "someone else got your money". After 20 minutes, the money was refunded.

We had a spa day for which we were double charged. Product ordered from the spa was never delivered. The photos we purchased were not in the envelope, even though we paid for them. The clerk at guest services refused to apply cash casino winnings to our room charges. The sales people in the gift shops were rude. When I asked for crispy bacon from the buffet clerk he plopped some bacon of his choosing on my plate and said, "crispy enough". Are you getting the picture? This was a horrible experience.

But, the cherry on top is the response from personnel at guest services when we brought these concerns to their attention on Saturday. They said, "If you have problems, you should come to guest services right away so we can address the concerns with the appropriate department head." Well lady, if I did that, I would have spent every minute of my vacation standing in line at guest services! I am very disappointed in Carnival. Too bad. Because I've already spent several thousand dollars on your cruise line and now my money is going to your competition.
