The embarkation process was actually very quick, and within 20 minutes we were in our staterooms. The ship was very full, due in part to spring break. We saw mostly families, not too many college kids. We had a good experience for the most part. Our head waiter, Robert in the international room, was very attentive. We were not an easy table, and had the 2nd seating. My kids are somewhat picky and had Robert's staff running from day one. The food was good, although most of it was oversalted. There was a good range of items available. No one walked away from dinner hungry. The pools were very crowded, and to get a spot you absolutely had to be out there at 7 with your towel and books. There were signs everywhere reminding people not to save chairs, but if you played by the rules, you would never get a chair. We ate most of our breakfasts in the horizon court. There tended to be quite a pile up of people in the buffet lines, and finding a place to sit was always a challenge. We had one sit down breakfast in the international room. The wait time for a poached egg was 25 minutes, so we didn't go back there. Overall, tho, we had a relaxing time. The music out by the pool was fun, as were the pool activities. THe Lotus Spa was great, my massage therapist Mia from Denmark was charming. My daughter and I took some yoga classes which were fun. The great thing about cruising with teenagers is that they can eat all day long, which is pretty much what my kids did! The outdoor grill next to the pool was very popular. I will say that the ice cream was odd, it had a chemical flavor to it which I didn't care for, but certainly wasn't minded by my 9 year old! My only real concern was the hardness of the beds. It wasn't just firm, it was hard. My husband and I tossed and turned every night, trying to get comfortable.

Cabin Review

The cabin itself was nice, with an outside balcony. We had two issues. FIrst, the bed was incredibly hard and uncomfortable, and the pillows seemed to be made out of a wedge of foam. We did not sleep soundly the entire week. Secondly, when we ventured out onto the balcony to smell the ocean, what we inhaled was cigarette smoke from several balconies below us. They really ought to put all the smokers together on the ship. Many people around us had to stay off their balconies due to the second hand smoke.
