We decided to cruise on the Anthem Of The Seas because it is only a 2 hour ride from our home and we didn't have to fly. The ship is beautiful and the staff was outstanding. We enjoyed all of the ports and especially the 3 sea days going and coming back to Cape Liberty. We stopped at Labadee, San Juan, St. Marteen, Martinique, Barbados, and St. Kitts. Barbados and St. Marteen were our favorites. We did a tour with Bernards in St Marteen and stopped at Maho Beach which was fantastic. In Barbados we did a catamaran with Sarahs Elegance Catamarans and it was fantastic!! The crew were so helpful and actually got my wife and I to snorkel for the first time in our lives. Would definitely do it again if we ever go back to Barbados.

As far as the ship is concerned it really is amazing. It showed no effects from the hurricane in February. Our favorite spots on the ship were the Two70 lounge and Schooners Bar. The entertainment was fantastic throughout the entire cruise featuring a Journey tribute band. The Beatlemaniacs were also on the ship for several days and they also had a variety of singers, comedians, and the usual jugglers. They were all very good. The food was average in the complimentary restaurants but Jamie Olivers and Chops were excellent. One thing we also noticed was the fact that there was actually someone keeping the chair hogs in line at the pool. If they noticed an empty chair with a towel or some other item claiming it and no one around they would place a tag on the chair with the time and giving them 30 minutes to return or lose the chair. This was a welcome sight to us people who actually do go to the pools.

A big concern for us was the prices of their drinks. It is blatantly obvious that Royal Caribbean is trying to force people to buy the drink packages. The premium alcohol package costs about $70.00 per person! Times this by 2 people and 12 days and you have quite a bar bill. This does not include the 18% gratuity which is added to it. We did not buy the package but every time we ordered 2 drinks such as a Margarita it cost us $27.00!!!! This is about 33% higher than Princess Cruises whom we also love to cruise with. Other than this we really enjoyed the cruise and the embarkation and debarkation process in Cae Liberty was very smooth.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin E1

Cabin was very nice with lots of room under the bed for luggage. Balcony was average size. The shower was actually one of the larger showers I have experienced on a cruise ship.

Port Reviews

Bayonne (Cape Liberty)

Embarkation and debarkation were very easy. The new terminal is great!

Labadee

Spent the day at Columbus Cove. Take the tram to avoid very aggressive merchants.
