Traveled with children

We booked this cruise over 12 months from departure as it was an Easter cruise and during the Easter School Holidays. Children only had to be out of school for two days. The price was very good and that is why we picked it and because it left from Brisbane which meant no flights and we wanted to try out the Legend, having been on the Voyager and Explorer of the Seas before.

We had two inside cabins 2091 and 2589. They were not next to each other, one was starboard aft and the other port aft. This was not an issue as we have previously had cabins distance apart. In total there were eight of us. Two adults and six children. Five of ours and one of a friend who was travelling too in cabin 2593.

Embarkation went reasonably smooth, the only thing was that apparently every person had to sign the cruise documentation and bring it with them We only brought the adults one with us so it delayed check in. It would be nice if Royal has a simpler system instead of having to print out so many boarding passes.

Cabin Review

Interior Stateroom

Cabin M

Cabin is too small for four people, there is just not enough space to place the clothes of four people into the various wardrobes and draws.

Port Reviews

Brisbane

We boarded here Port Hamilton is a nice area.

Champagne Bay (Vanuatu)

Great beach as soon as you get off the ship. The sand is so nice and the water is lovely.

Port Vila

Vila is very cosmopolitan, we walked around town, took a water taxi to Hideaway Island and enjoyed the day. Also very good duty free shopping here.

Mystery Island

It was a hot day but beautiful snorkelling on both sides of the island, make sure you bring sun screen.

Lifou

There is some great snorkelling at Jinek Bay, some good walks to the white church which has some very good views and you can also swim on the side were the ship anchors and if you are lucky you will see some sea turtles whilst snorkelling.
