Boarded the Reflection on April 9th, for a 16-day transatlantic voyage. We had a “Sunset Veranda” cabin – 8348 – which faces aft. Great cabin with an extra-wide balcony. We found plenty of storage …suitcase space under the bed, large cabinet over the king bed, small shelves on both sides of the bed, and a large closet with plenty of room for shoes on the closet floor. We brought less clothes and shoes than on previous cruises since “formal night” has been replaced by “elegant chic”—truth is that nowadays, it seems that you can wear anything you want to dinner as long as it doesn’t have holes in it or it’s not shorts! The dresser has 3 deep drawers, a small refrigerator and a safe, with a Samsung TV above and 2 AC plugs on the side. Adjacent to the dresser is a desk and chair, with a large mirror. Across from the dresser, a couch sits 3 comfortably, with a small table in front.

The bathroom features a fairly large shower with a wonderful showerhead. Four narrow open shelves atop three closed shelves were next to the vanity. The vanity went the length of the bathroom and incorporated 4 open narrow shelves on top of 3 closed shelves, a bowl style sink, two very small drawers with a waste can drawer below, and some open storage. A large mirror was over the vanity. There’s an AC outlet as well. Towels were a bit disappointing— thin but adequate as were the lightweight bathrobes.

The bed was large—king size—and comfortable. The veranda was very nice with its aft view…but soot was an occasional annoyance. Suggest wiping down the veranda chairs before sitting, even though the attendants clean the veranda twice every day. Read more
