I thought I'd take the time to write a decent review of the carnival cruise (spirit) liner considering I struggled so hard to find one before our trip.

All communication with carnival was efficient prior to our trip and we were well informed with all guidelines, requirements, 'what to pack' and time schedules etc. Boarding the cruise was as described and easily done, with a little wait of course (what do you expect with 2,000 passengers eager to get on the boat and crack a beer). Shortly after our welcoming onto the boat our rooms were ready us to begin unpacking and settle in. We had a minor delay due to the room set up being as a double (two singles pushed together) and no bunks as requested but the room stewards soon jumped into action and fixed the room to our request.

When first arriving on board you can clear up any issues or queries you may have with you're 'sail and sign card' (the card which is used for entering the room, money, identification etc). I chose to make a cash deposit in which I took straight $50 notes, you are then given a balance and can continue to check this as the trip goes at any of the machines on level 2.

Cabin size isn't the biggest but what do you expect with 2,000 other people on board?

I thought considering this, the rooms were quite spacious. Myself, father, mother and younger sister were quite comfortable with the room and found we were only ever in there to get changed and sleep, so the size was not a worry. The stewards/ cleaners were amazing and efficient. You can select a time in which they will clean the room for you. We selected the night time option so it was cleaned while we were at dinner.
