We love to cruise. This was my 9th cruise and my husbands 7th. We have spent the majority of our cruises on carnival. This cruise we were also taking our 6 year old and my husbands parents who had not taken a vacation in many years. Overall it was a great trip. Embarkation was easy and we were onboard eating lunch by 12:30pm. What I love about carnival over NCL is that I never had to fight for a deck chair or a good seat on deck. We were zipping down the water slide by 2pm.
One of the Highlights of the cruise was kids club for our 6 year old. They have tons of activities and work on engaging all the kiddos. He loved building a volcano and playing mini golf. He also loved the individual video stations.
We had 6pm dining in the gold pearl and had an amazing waitstaff. By the second night they knew our drink orders and treated us like royalty! I also recommend taking your time in the morning and eating in the main dining room. Foods great and it's nice to have someone bring you coffee on vacation.
Great value. Carnivals rooms are much bigger than NCL
This is a beautiful beach. Lunch is made by the crew and was also good. Bring lots of sunscreen the sun is strong
They created a great port. The pool is awesome and there is a zip line and water slides. We went to ocean world which is the DR version of seaworld the shows were cute and I would recommend it. However, food selection is not greT and it is definitely not a beach/ swimming destination. The pool is tiny. The beach looked sketchy.
Great party atmosphere the equipment was a little old and the weather wasn't perfect. Good time!
Old San Juan is a great port. We explored the fortresses which are walking distance from the port and then shopped.
Easy port to embark from
