First off, we were on the sailing prior to this as back to back cruisers. BUT - our kids were joining us so we had to disembark to get them through check in. In doing this, the Carnival check in staff literally had no idea what to do with us. The woman that we ended up with complained the entire time that we were in the wrong place and she shouldn't even have to check us in. She was rude and went out of her way to make us feel embarrassed to be in her line.

With our kids joining us on this cruise we finally got a chance to spend some time in the Water Works area. My 6 and 7 year old LOVED this. Never wanted to leave, stay all day, loved this. Even my 6 year old was up and down the slides by herself with no problem at all. It was very accessible and fun to see them enjoy themselves too much!

My littlest was too small to enjoy the ropes course but my older two and husband all said it was a blast! I'm afraid of heights so I didn't partake - but it was a hit with everyone else.

Cabin Review

Cove Balcony

Cabin 7C

I know that there are a number of complaints about this type of room and the noise from the galley. I'm not going to say that there was no noise - because there was. That being said, it wasn't that bad. It's not like I was up all night because of the noise or it really disturbed me at all. I had an early dinner (so i was in my room once in a while during late seating) and there was some general chair scraping type noises or a loud bang here or there.

I sleep with a fan on, maybe that drowned some of it out.

There was noise. But it wasn't all night. It wasn't disruptive to me. I also had the rooms on either side of this one (2342 and 2346). 2346 is adjoining and my two youngest (6&7 yrs old) were in there and they weren't bothered by it all. My son and grandmother were in 2342, and while they also heard the noises they weren't bothered by it either.

The cove balconies are very cool. The luxury of a balcony room without the cost! It's also under the life boats so its rarely sunny but a nice luxury of being able to get some fresh air and let the kids watch the ocean as we sail.

I'd definitely get this type of room again if I had the option.

Port Reviews

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata)

The new port is gorgeous and theres a ton to do without spending a the of money. Waterslides, pool, zip line, kids water area, pool bar, restaurant, wifi etc

St. Thomas

Made our way to the Sky Tour and took the tram up and had a few root beer floats up top. Easy for the kids without too much stress.

Grand Turk

Awesome port. Beautiful beach with tons to do without even leaving the port area!
