This was by far one of our favorite cruises. We've only been cruising for 4 years but have done 7 to date on Princess, Celebrity and NCL...I guess making up for lost time! Many of our friends cruise RCI exclusively so we were so very excited to find this short trip with a fabulous itinerary.

I don't know what the interior of the Jewel looked like before the recent renovation but I can tell you the ship is exquisite. All of the carpeting has been replaced which made the ship feel very clean and refreshed. The bar areas and seating are luxurious with plenty of seating and good service. They also added a giant outdoor movie screen and 1 or 2 new restaurants. One evening, we decided to go the to "movies" and saw Star Wars: The Force Awakens under the stars...nothing like it. There's also an indoor cinema and you can purchase a bag of popcorn before you go in. We noted in our survey that the popcorn should have been complimentary as on other ships but oh well!

If you go to the center of each deck located by the glass encased elevators, you can look all the way down from Deck 10 to Deck 4 where a lot of the musical entertainment is going on. So even if you couldn't get a seat, you were able to see what was going on and at least hear the music. And by the way, the entertainment was great as was the 70's party that was so much fun...everyone got into the Saturday Night Fever theme.

Port Reviews

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

The port is okay - going through Customs takes a long time as they only have 3-4 agents on duty.

Nassau

This is a very busy port as they can accommodate many ships - there were 4 docked when we arrived. Get a day pass to a resort or go over to the Atlantis.

Key West

First time here, it was very commercial but a pretty and colorful island. Would probably return for another look!
