We chose the NCL Epic, as we wanted to travel to Italy, Spain, and France. It is a very large ship. We stayed several days in Barcelona precruise before embarking on the 7 day cruise to the Western Med. This ship was perfect, and we shelled out the extra money for a Two bedroom Two Bathroom Family Villa in The Haven, and it was worth every penny. It was first class from having our own butler, to getting to move to the front of lines and getting the best seats in the shows, getting to go to special elevators, and having our own pool area, fitness, and restaurants, though we ventured to the lower levels, and found everything to be nice as well. The shows were outstanding, and the food in The Haven was great. The Beatles cover band, the Cirque dinner show, and the drag show, Priscilla, were all very good.
Italy, Spain, and France were wonderful, as we booked really great excursions through NCL each day. There were four adults on this trip. We loved the Exclusive Amalfi, Positano, Sorrento, and Pompeii tour, as it was a smaller group excursion. Another great excursion was Florence and Pisa. Florence has wonderful leather goods, and all of the beautiful statues and museums were fabulous. Our tour guides provided by NCL were all very good and were native to the area, so very informative. The A Taste Of Rome and Italy was also very good as well! Canne in France was a fun place, and we just did the city tour, though our traveling companions had great things to say about Monaco and Monte Carlo.
We would do it all again for sure!
This cabin in the Haven was wonderful. The layout was very good. We did have two couples, and of course one bedroom was much bigger, but the other bedroom had its own bathroom, so there was not a problem. The balcony was very nice, and the perks of being in The Haven were endless. We were treated like royalty. Every day we came back from excursions with appetizers and sweets in our cabin. If you can get a good deal, I would highly recommend The Haven. It was worth the extra money.
Barcelona has interesting architecture, especially Gaudi.
Nice tour booked through the hotel.
Gaudi was very neo-classic.
We stayed in Barcelona several days precruise, so booked with our hotel concierge.
Booked through the hotel. We stayed at Hotel 1898 on Las Ramblas.
La Sagrada Familia is not to be missed.
Montjuic is very beautiful! You can see out over the entire city.
We did the Exclusive Amalfi Coast, Positano, Sorrento, and Pompeii, and loved it! It was a small group, as large buses do not fit on the narrow streets of Positano. Pompeii was wonderful, as was Sorrento.
Wonderful, had a pasta lesson in the Italian country area, and had a lunch, as well as got to go to the Roman Colosseum ad other famous areas.
Excellent with very good tour guides.
Nice tour!
