This was my 22nd cruise and approximately the 8th for my wife. This was my 5th Princess cruise and my wife's third. We are active 30 somethings and we like to do a lot of activities on cruise ships and ashore. We went into this cruise knowing that it wouldn't have the same level of activities as Royal or Carnival, but even with lowered expectations, we were disappointed.

We arrived the day before sailing and spent a great day at Disneyland. I would highly recommend Disney to anyone with or without kids. We stayed at the Super 8 near Disneyland (about a 10 minute walk to the front gates). If you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel that is clean, safe, provides breakfast, and is close to Disney then this is a good option.

We were informed a few days before sailing that embarkation would be delayed due to norovirus on the ship and a full cleaning that would take place in the morning/afternoon of embarkation. We were told not to arrive until 3pm. We arrived at 3:30pm and did not get on the ship until 6pm. What surprised us was that despite the delay due to "cleaning" our room was the dirtiest I've ever seen. We always wipe down the room with Clorox wipes when we first get there, but we found hairs, sand, and gunk build up where the soap goes in the bathroom. I complained at the desk and was put on a "list". I explained that I wanted to have a supervisor speak with me regarding the lack of cleanliness on a ship with norovirus. Fast forward to the end of the week when I went to the front desk at 5:30pm on the last night. I was told that someone was going to speak with me. This was obviously (I'll keep this PG) hooey. No one was going to come find me that night. I was given a $50 OBC, but I thought this was too little too late. I was ignored all week. A couple other cabin notes: There is not much space in the shower if you have your own bottles. You might want to bring a shower caddy of some sort if you have a lot of stuff. One day AFTER our room was cleaned, we were left with no hand towels. We had the same bar of soap until it was so thin that it broke on Day 6. AFTER the room was cleaned we were left with no bar of soap. Our cabin steward must have been getting bonuses for not using a lot of soap bars.

This cabin location is great - just a few steps to the Terrace Pool. Very quiet area of the ship.
